Camp for Cancer Recovery is a supportive retreat for men and women who are currently going through treatment. Scheduled for August 7–9, 2026, this camp is made possible through the generosity of community grants and support. This program is for individuals in Maui County who are on the cancer journey.

Who may apply

1. Qualification for selection:

  • Cancer patient currently in treatment: this may include hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, chemotherapy.

  • Physically able to share bath and shower with other campers, walk independently 20 yards on a flat surface, Sleep in a single cot in a cabin with 4 others for 2 nights.

  • Must be able to obtain transportation to and from the camping event, exception are outer island participants who will be helped with air and land transport to the event.

2. Selection process:

  • Adult age 18 or over

  • Maui County resident

  • Currently in treatment

3. Selection process

  • All applicants will be placed in a random selection tank and 24 selected.

  • Participants will then be called to confirm their attendance

  • Waiting list will be set up

  • 30 days before event we will contact the selected applicants for confirmation and health status.

Maui Cancer Resources retreats are provided at no cost to participants. The only expense is travel to and from the retreat location. For participants traveling from Molokaʻi and Lānaʻi, we can assist in organizing and covering travel.

Selection to attend the retreat is made through a random lottery process.

All meals and lodging are included during the retreat.

  • 30 days before event we will contact the selected applicants for confirmation and health status.

  • There will be space for 24 individuals currently going through the cancer journey. The retreat will be supported by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers to ensure a safe and nurturing experience.

  • We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.

  • We offer a variety of optional activities including sunrise yoga, journaling, healing circles, and more. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you like—this retreat is about honoring your needs.

  • Participants will stay in shared one-room cabins. Each cabin is designed to sleep six, with twin-sized beds, however we will only be using four beds per cabin to allow for additional space and comfort. Two beds will remain unoccupied to help create a more relaxed and spacious environment.
